It applies to individuals who register or act as drivers on Hikingspot, including verification of identity and vehicles, posting driver bookings, and completing matched trips with passengers.

2. Categories of information

Identity and account: Name, contact details, profile details, and account identifiers needed to operate your driver profile.

Licence and eligibility: Driver licence and related details, and outcomes of verification checks we perform where required by our processes.

Vehicle: Make, model, registration, capacity, images you upload, and active/inactive status of vehicles you list.

Trip and operations: Routes, origins and destinations, departure timing, seat availability, booking and trip status, fare-related metadata as implemented in the app, and messages needed to coordinate trips.

Technical: Device, app version, diagnostics, security logs, and IP address to protect accounts and prevent abuse.

3. Why we use this information

Create and maintain your driver account and verify you meet platform requirements.

Display and manage driver bookings, match passengers, and show trip status.

Share necessary trip details with matched passengers (for example name, vehicle, and coordination details).

Operate safety, fraud prevention, and enforcement of our Terms of Service and community expectations.

Comply with law, respond to lawful requests, and defend our legal rights.

Improve the service using aggregated or de-identified analytics where permitted.

4. Matching and automated processing

Trip matching may use rules and systems that consider route, timing, capacity, and booking status. This supports coordination and is not used to make legally significant decisions about you beyond operating the platform; you may contact support if you believe a match or status is incorrect.

5. Location

We may process location or place information you provide (for example pickup areas or cities) and technical data derived from app use. You control what you enter; device permission prompts are described in the app where relevant.

6. Sharing

We share information with passengers as needed to coordinate confirmed trips, with service providers who host or secure the service, and when required by law or to protect safety. We do not sell your personal information.

7. Retention

We retain information while your account is active and as needed for the purposes above. If you request deletion, our delayed anonymisation flow may apply as described in the Privacy Policy and in-app.

8. Your rights
